Preschool is such a sweet time. Perhaps you plan to homeschool all the way through, want to dip your toes into homeschooling, or intend to send your children to school for the bulk of their education but still want to try some preschool activities at home. Either way, the preschool years are a sweet and wonderful time to connect with your child and, more importantly, to point them toward Jesus.

Whether you call it preschool, pre-K, early years, nursery, reception, or simply learning at home with your 2-, 3-, or 4-year-old, these early days can be simple, meaningful, and full of opportunity.
Bible-Based Preschool at Home
At Lamp & Light Living, we offer a few options to help you on this journey. Our That It May Go Well Preschool Curriculum is an open-and-go Christian preschool workbook that includes everything you need to say and do with your child. It was created to help make preschool at home feel approachable, peaceful, and purposeful.
We also have a video preschool option for families who would love extra support. The video lessons can help guide your young learner through Bible-based preschool activities while still keeping the heart of learning centered in your home.

Hands-On Preschool Learning for Young Learners
Because preschoolers are still very young learners, we encourage you to add lots of hands-on learning to keep them engaged, interested, and involved. Hands-on preschool activities do not need to be complicated. Often the simplest activities are the ones children remember and enjoy most.
Nature Letter Charts are one very fun way to make hands-on learning more meaningful. Together, you and your child can gather items from nature around your house—leaves, small sticks, flower petals, seeds, grass, or other little treasures—and use them to build letters.
All you really need is some cardstock and glue to make this activity come to life. It is a simple way to practice letter recognition, fine motor skills, and early literacy while giving your child a chance to touch, arrange, create, and explore.

What That It May Go Well Preschool Covers
That It May Go Well Preschool Curriculum is a Bible-based preschool curriculum and Christian preschool curriculum designed to cover the early learning basics in a gentle, open-and-go way. It includes ABCs, 1-2-3s, shapes, colors, Bible stories, and much more.
The goal is not just to give your child a foundation in education, but also to give them a growing knowledge of the Bible and to point their hearts toward Jesus. Preschool is a wonderful time to build early skills, but it is also a beautiful time to begin laying a foundation of truth.
A Sweet Beginning, Not a Heavy Burden
After homeschooling three of our four children for preschool, I am looking forward to starting our fourth child’s preschool adventure this coming year. The excitement of young learners who are rearing and ready to go never gets old. It is so much fun to see the spark of excitement in their eyes and the desire to learn.

Preschool at home does not need to be overwhelming. You do not need to recreate a classroom, plan hours of activities, or turn every moment into formal school. You can read, talk, sing, count, glue, trace, play, and learn together in simple ways that fit naturally into family life.

Point Them Toward Jesus
Take this opportunity to cultivate not only a desire for learning, but more importantly, to point your children toward Jesus and help ensure that they have a firm grasp of the gospel. We have found that many of our children decide to follow Jesus during these years.
Preschool is such a sweet season. It is a time to build early learning skills, strengthen your relationship with your child, and begin showing them that all wisdom and truth belong to God. It is a great time to teach our children that Jesus received the children.
"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'” Matthew 19:14
